Established in 2007, Vysya College of Education was founded by “Vasavi Vidya Trust,” a charitable organization formed by generous members of the Vysya Community. The college’s primary objective is to provide value-based education to students in and around the Salem District. Through the unwavering dedication of the chairman, Thiru.R.P.Sarathy, and the secretary, Thiru.J.Rajendra Prasad, the college has earned a reputation for excellence in the field of education. Initially affiliated with Periyar University, Salem, the college has been affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai, since 2008.
Nestled in the serene and pollution-free village of Masinaickenpatty, Ayodhiyapattinam, the college enjoys a tranquil atmosphere. The campus encompasses various facilities, including administrative and departmental buildings, computer labs, playgrounds, a canteen, and a students’ hostel, providing students with a conducive learning environment.
Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
Applicants must have completed their education following either the 10+2+3 (15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern. Those who have successfully completed a 5-year integrated course with a postgraduate (P.G) degree under the 10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern of study will also be considered for admission.
Additionally, candidates with specific undergraduate (U.G) and postgraduate (P.G) degrees are eligible to apply. Candidates who have obtained a P.G degree and secured a minimum of 50% marks in the same major subject as their U.G degree but do not meet the minimum percentage of marks required in their U.G degree based on their community/category will still be eligible.
For admission to courses other than Economics and Commerce, candidates must meet the required marks in their Bachelor’s Degree. However, for Economics and Commerce subjects, having a P.G qualification is mandatory.
Placements
The institution has established collaborations with renowned schools in and around Salem, and it operates a dedicated placement cell overseen by a staff coordinator. Each year, campus interviews are organized to facilitate job opportunities for students. A significant number of our students have been successfully placed in reputable CBSE schools in the Salem region. Moreover, several students from our institution have successfully cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) administered by the State Government.
