Course, Fees and Eligibility

Admissions

VKIT offers admissions in B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. They also provide a lateral entry option for B.E. second-year courses.

For B.E. admissions, students will be selected based on their merit ranks in the KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test). Eligibility requires candidates to have passed their 12th-grade examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, securing a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST).

As for lateral entry admissions, candidates need to take the Diploma Common Entrance Exam conducted by KEA. Those with a diploma in Engineering/Technology and a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST and Backward Classes) are eligible for B.E. courses.

M.Tech admissions are determined by the marks obtained in either GATE or PGCET. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology and possess valid GATE scores to be eligible for the M.Tech program.

The admission process involves counseling by KEA or direct admission under management quota through an interview conducted by the institute’s admission committee.

For Ph.D. admissions, VTU rules apply, and candidates are shortlisted through the VTU Research Aptitude Test followed by an interview.
