Established in 1981 by the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust, Vinayaka Missions University gained recognition as a deemed university under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 in 2001. The university holds accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Encompassing an expansive 271-acre campus, it boasts a faculty of 217 members. Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, as stated on its official website, envisions utilizing education as a catalyst for positive social change.
The university offers 43 programs at the diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. Admissions are based on both merit and entrance exams, with the consideration of NATA and JEE Main paper 2 scores for B.Arch admissions. VMU conducts counseling sessions for admission into all its programs. The university has established collaborations with various foreign institutions and universities. Additionally, students of Vinayaka Missions University are eligible for a range of state-level and national-level scholarships. The university maintains a dedicated placement cell that facilitates job opportunities for its students. Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
The university offers admission to a wide range of programs, including Diploma, undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and integrated courses. Candidates have the opportunity to enroll in courses such as B.Arch, B.Ed., B.Sc., M.Sc., MPH, and more. For admission into the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation accepts NATA/JEE Main paper 2 scores.
Admission to diploma, B.Sc., B.Ed., and B.Optom courses at Vinayaka Missions University is based on the merit of the candidates’ last qualifying examination. On the other hand, for admission into BPES and B.P.Ed. programs, candidates are required to undergo sports trials and a personal interview. As part of the admission process outlined by Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, the university conducts counseling sessions to facilitate admissions into different programs.
Placements
The Placement & Training Cell at VMRF is dedicated to fostering confidence, cultivating the right attitude, and extending its services across various disciplines within the university. The activities conducted by the cell focus on personality development, contributing to the holistic growth of the students. For Engineering graduates from the 1st to 6th semester, participation in the placement training program is mandatory. This program aligns with the current curriculum of the entire course, enhancing students’ industry readiness and sharpening their personality skills. It also plays a crucial role in maintaining placement records. The cell comprises faculty members with specialized expertise and extensive experience.
In the year 2020, Vinayaka Mission University witnessed placements for 48 students across nine companies. More than 120 students were eligible for placements, resulting in a 40% placement percentage. The highest package offered stood at INR 2 LPA, while the top recruiters included Gem Hospital, IDFC, East India Technology, Worksbot, and Vee Technologies. The minimum package offered to students was INR 1.2 LPA.
