Established in 1993, Vinayaka Mission’s College of Physiotherapy (VMCP) is a constituent college of Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) located in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. The college is approved and affiliated with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the T.N Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. It has received recognition from UGC, DSIR, and the Indian Association of Physiotherapists, while also being accredited by NAAC.

In 2004, VMCP expanded its curriculum to include postgraduate courses and transformed into a research institute dedicated to the field of physiotherapy. The college is associated with a 500-bed multi-specialty medical college hospital and a 500-bed super specialty hospital, providing enrolled students with valuable clinical experience.

VMCP offers a range of courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels. The programs include Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Master of Physiotherapy (MPT), and Ph.D. in Physiotherapy. These courses are specifically designed to cater to the discipline of physiotherapy. The admission process at Vinayaka Mission’s College of Physiotherapy is based on the merit obtained by candidates in the qualifying examination. Additionally, candidates’ scores in the NEET UG and NEET PG exams are also considered during the selection process. However, it is important to note that qualifying the NEET entrance exam is not mandatory for admission to Vinayaka Mission’s College of Physiotherapy.

Admissions

For admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program, candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university. The candidate should have pursued the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects.

To be eligible for the Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) program, candidates must hold a graduation degree in the same subject, i.e., Bachelor of Physiotherapy, from a recognized institute. Additionally, the candidate must have achieved a minimum score of 50% or higher, as per the institute’s criteria, in the graduation degree.

To pursue a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of physiotherapy, candidates must have completed their master’s degree or should be in the final year of their master’s program. The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 45% to 50% marks in their master’s degree from a recognized university or board.

Placements

The placement activities at Vinayaka Mission’s College of Physiotherapy are overseen by a dedicated Training & Placement (T&P) cell, established by the college board. The T&P cell comprises placement faculties who take charge of providing students with suitable job opportunities aligned with their academic training. In order to prepare students for upcoming placement sessions, the T&P cell also conducts placement preparation programs.

Every year, the T&P cell invites multinational corporations (MNCs) and other companies to the campus for placement drives. Additionally, the Vinayaka Mission’s College of Physiotherapy placement cell organizes training sessions and industry visits, keeping students updated on the latest market trends and prospects through emails, announcements, and lectures. The cell is responsible for coordinating the placement process at Vinayaka Mission’s College of Physiotherapy, helping students across various industries to prepare for their campus placements.
