The Vinayaka Mission’s College of Pharmacy (VMCP) in Salem, established in 1982, is a pioneering institution under the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. The college holds a crucial role in the field of Pharmacy education and addresses the growing demand for pharmacists in India and abroad. Initially offering the Diploma in Pharmacy program, VMCP has expanded its offerings to include B.Pharm (since 1993), M.Pharm (since 2003) with specialization options, Pharm.D, Pharm.D (PB) (since 2009), and a Doctoral Program in Pharmacy (since 2004).

VMCP is a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Deemed to be University, Salem. It holds approvals from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college has witnessed the successful graduation of numerous students who are now practicing the Pharmacy profession globally, contributing to the welfare of communities.

Nestled at the foothills of Yercaud, a picturesque hill resort, the college boasts its own independent, well-designed multi-storeyed building. The campus is equipped with excellent infrastructural facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, a library, and an auditorium. The departments are equipped with modern and sophisticated equipment, providing students with a conducive learning environment.

Course, Fees and Eligibility

Admissions

D. Pharm: To be eligible for D. Pharm admission, candidates must have passed the 10+2/H.Sc/CBSE examinations or an equivalent qualification. The qualifying examination should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or (Botany & Zoology), or Mathematics, and English individually.

B. Pharm: For B. Pharm admission, candidates should have successfully completed the 10+2/H.Sc/CBSE examinations or an equivalent qualification. The qualifying examination should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or (Botany & Zoology), or Mathematics, and English individually. Additionally, candidates must have obtained marks as per the norms and regulations of the Pharmacy Council. They should also have cleared the Competitive Entrance Examinations conducted by the University. For lateral entry, candidates should have passed D. Pharmacy with an aggregate of 50% marks in the first and second year.

B. Pharm (Practice): Candidates applying for B. Pharm (Practice) should have passed D. Pharmacy and have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Community or Hospital Pharmacy.

M. Pharm: To be eligible for M. Pharm admission, candidates must have completed B. Pharm with an aggregate of 55% marks. They should also have cleared the Competitive Entrance Examinations conducted by the University.

Pharm. D: For Pharm. D admission, candidates should have passed the 10+2/H.Sc/CBSE examinations with Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Biology or (Botany & Zoology) or Mathematics. They should also have cleared the Competitive Entrance Examinations conducted by the University.

Pharm. D (PB): Candidates applying for Pharm. D (PB) should have passed B. Pharm.

Ph.D: To be eligible for Ph.D admission, candidates should have passed M. Pharm with a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent. They should have also cleared the Competitive Entrance Examinations conducted by the University.
