TMDCH (Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital) is a private dental institute situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1991 by TMT Kannammal Educational Trust. In 2003, TMDCH Chennai was elevated to the status of a deemed university by the Ministry of Family Welfare and Health, Government of India. The institute is affiliated with Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute and recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). With a capacity of 700 beds, the institute’s in-patient ward provides a clinical study environment for students. The admission process for TMDCH in 2020 is based on entrance exams.
TMDCH offers a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program at the undergraduate level and a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) program in various dentistry disciplines at the postgraduate level. The institute is equipped with four intensive care units, including the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU). Applications for admission to both BDS and MDS programs are accepted online through an entrance-based selection process. Students at the institute receive comprehensive training at ACS Medical College and Hospital, which is an affiliated hospital of TMDCH.

Admissions
Thai Moogambigai Dental College & Hospital offers BDS and MDS courses accredited by the Ministry of Family Welfare & Health and Dental Council of India.
The college provides various courses through its departments, including Oral Medicine & Radiology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, and Oral Pathology.
To apply for admissions, candidates are required to submit their applications online. Eligibility for UG courses requires completion of class 12th. For MDS, applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline.
BDS admissions are conducted through counseling based on the candidate’s scores in NEET UG. Selection for the MDS program is based on clearing NEET PG.
Placements
The Placement and Training Cell, in collaboration with department coordinators, actively participates in recommending curriculum and syllabus modifications to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in line with industry expectations.
The Cell prioritizes training programs aimed at preparing candidates for employment. Students undergo Aptitude Tests and Psychometric Tooling Tests, followed by Personality Development, Interpersonal Skills, Group Presentations, and Resume Writing Skills sessions.
