Established in 1963 by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, St John’s Medical College, Bangalore is a renowned medical college affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college is privately funded and offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, super specialty, and doctoral courses in Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences.

In the NIRF 2022 Rankings, St John’s Medical College was ranked the 14th best medical institute. The college provides courses in MBBS, M.D, M.S, D.M, and M.Ch in Medicine, and GNM, B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, and M.Sc Nursing in Nursing. St John’s Medical College also offers various Allied Health Sciences courses, including B.Sc, BPT, MPT, MHA, DHA, and M.Sc. The college also provides Ph.D. and Fellowship programs in various specializations in Medicine and Nursing.

Entrance exams are required for admission to all the courses at St John’s Medical College. NEET, NEET PG, and NEET SS are accepted for MBBS, M.D/M.S, and D.M/M.Ch courses, respectively.

Admissions

Admission to Allied Health Science courses such as BPT, MPT, MHA, and M.Sc. MLT is currently available at St. John’s Medical College for the 2023 academic year. St. John’s Medical College offers a wide range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Super Specialty, and Doctoral courses in the fields of Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences.

For undergraduate MBBS program, St. John’s Medical College requires applicants to submit their NEET UG scores. At the postgraduate level, the college offers various M.D. and M.S. courses, which require NEET PG scores for admission. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is responsible for admission to MBBS and MD/MS courses at St. John’s Medical College. NEET SS conducted by NBE is the basis for admission to Super Specialty D.M., M.Ch, and DNB courses. Under its Nursing branch, the college offers admission to GNM, B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, and M.Sc Nursing courses. Allied Health Sciences courses at SJMC include B.Sc, BPT, MPT, MHA, DHA, and M.Sc. MLT, and admission is determined by the institute’s entrance examination. St. John’s Medical College also provides Ph.D., Fellowship, and various other courses in different specializations.

Placements

St. John’s Medical College has an excellent reputation and offers a compulsory rural bond program. Under this program, students are assigned rural centers to work for, ensuring them a guaranteed job for the first two years.
