Established in 1996-97, SRM Dental College is affiliated with SRM University of Health Sciences. The college holds an ‘A++’ grade accreditation by the NAAC team and is recognized by the Dental Council of India. It has also earned the ISO 9001:2008 certification. The college offers various courses in BDS, MDS, and Ph.D. programs. Admissions are based on the guidelines set by the DGHDS (Directorate General of Health Services), Government of India. NEET-UG and NEET-PG are the accepted entrance exams for the BDS and MDS programs, respectively.

Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
The college provides the BDS program at the undergraduate level with an intake capacity of 100 students. Additionally, it offers the MDS program at the postgraduate level in 9 specializations, accommodating a total of 54 students. Furthermore, SRM Dental College presents a Ph.D. course covering 16 research areas.
Prospective candidates can submit their applications through either the online portal available on the official college website or offline by downloading the application form from the same source. Applicants interested in the BDS program should have completed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as mandatory subjects. Selection for the BDS program will be based on NEET UG scores followed by counseling facilitated by the Medical Counselling Committee, India.
Candidates holding a BDS degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the MDS program. Admissions to the MDS program will be determined based on the NEET PG score. For admission to the Ph.D. course, candidates must hold an MDS or M.Phil degree with a minimum of 55% marks. The selection process for the Ph.D. program involves an entrance test and a personal interview conducted by the college. However, candidates who have qualified in UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE or hold a teacher fellowship will be exempted from the entrance test.
Placements
The placement report for the academic year 2023 at SRM Dental College is currently pending release. However, the NIRF report for 2023 has been published. As per the NIRF report 2023, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College witnessed placements for 73 BDS students and 53 MDS students during the 2022 placement session. The median package offered to BDS students was INR 3 LPA, while for MDS students, it stood at INR 5.1 LPA.
