The Srinivas College of Education was established on December 20, 2004, within the premises of Pandeshwar, Mangalore, under the patronage of the A. Shama Rao Foundation. Initially affiliated with Mangalore University for a period of 13 years, the college received approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and recognition from the Government of Karnataka. Its remarkable track record includes achieving over 15 ranks, with two instances of securing the first rank, and maintaining a consistent 100% pass rate under the affiliation with Mangalore University.
Since 2018, the college has become part of Srinivas University and is now known as the College of Education. Its primary objective is to nurture dynamic teachers capable of guiding and shaping the lives of students, instilling in them a sense of responsibility as future citizens. The college provides aspiring teachers with innovative and high-quality professional education through modern and sophisticated teaching techniques, while still preserving the essence of traditional teaching methods.
Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Education program, candidates must meet certain criteria. They should have achieved a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in either their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Social Science, Humanities, or any other field. Additionally, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, specializing in Science and Mathematics, with 55% marks or an equivalent qualification, are also eligible for admission to the B.Ed. degree.
Furthermore, individuals holding an undergraduate degree from the affiliating university, any other university recognized by the UGC, or a foreign degree that is deemed equivalent to Indian universities, are eligible for admission to the program. These candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks in their Bachelor’s degree, regardless of their field of study.
Admissions to the program are based on the merit achieved in the Entrance Examination conducted by the university.

Every year, the Srinivas College of Education organizes a placement drive, providing numerous students with opportunities for employment in esteemed national and global companies and organizations across various sectors.
