Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (SVMCH&RC) is a highly regarded tertiary-care teaching institution in the state of Puducherry. Our institution operates with the motto of “creating a healthier society” and is the brainchild of Shri. B. Ramachandran, a renowned philanthropic educationist and visionary who serves as the Chairman of the Ramachandra Educational Trust (RET) based in Chennai. RET also manages several other higher educational institutions in various professional disciplines, including Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Paramedical courses, and Engineering & Technology.
SVMCH&RC was established with the primary objective of providing comprehensive healthcare to the underprivileged population from both rural and urban areas, while also emphasizing teaching, research, and outreach activities. With a compassionate approach, our institution comprises twenty-one clinical departments specializing in various medical fields, along with four supporting healthcare services. We cater to over 500,000 outpatients and 40,000 inpatients annually, ensuring that each patient receives not only the finest diagnostic, medical, and surgical care, but also comprehensive disease prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation services.
Our institution contributes to the national healthcare system by producing 150 skilled medical graduates and postgraduates every year, who are dedicated to serving humanity and making a difference in healthcare.
Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
The B.Sc. Nursing courses offered at the institute are approved by the Indian Nursing Council in New Delhi. This undergraduate program spans a duration of 4 years. To secure admission in any of the courses, candidates must successfully qualify the NEET exam. The application form for admission is typically released on April 1. The selection process is based on the merit list and counseling conducted for NEET-qualified candidates.
