Eligibility criteria for joining the 4-year Bachelor of Engineering courses at Visvesvaraya Technological University require applicants to have passed the two-year Pre-University Examination (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the three subjects of Physics, Mathematics, and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, or Biotechnology. However, a relaxed requirement of 40% is applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST, Cat I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, and IIIB categories.
To be eligible for the 2-year Master of Technology course at Visvesvaraya Technological University, candidates need to have passed the Bachelor’s Degree course in Mechanical Engineering from an AICTE recognized University. General category candidates must have obtained an aggregate of 50% marks, while SC/ST, Cat I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, and IIIB candidates require a minimum of 45% marks. Additionally, candidates should have appeared for either PGCET or GATE exams.
For admission to the 3-year Diploma of Engineering courses offered by the Directorate of Technical Education, candidates should have passed the SSLC Examination conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Examination Board or its equivalent, with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks.
