Established in 2019, SRET currently offers a range of programs including BTech, BSc, MSc, and PhD. The Bachelor’s programs prioritize building strong fundamentals and equipping students with the necessary engineering skills for the industry. The curriculum emphasizes a balanced approach, dedicating 50% of the learning time to mastering theory and concepts while the remaining time is focused on practical application and practice. As part of experiential learning, students are required to complete mandatory internships each year. The institute provides a conducive environment that fosters creativity and innovation among students. Collaboration with industries and international institutions facilitates learning and applied research opportunities. The Master’s programs aim to enhance skills, provide advanced learning, and promote applied research. The Doctoral programs specifically emphasize applied and translational research. Additionally, scholars have the option to work at international labs or institutions for a duration of up to 18 months as part of their Doctoral program.
Admissions
B.Tech Eligibility:
Candidates applying for B.Tech must have successfully completed their 10+2 education or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Indian board. They should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
MTech Eligibility:
To be eligible for M.Tech, candidates need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Possess a recognized Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in the relevant field.
- Have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in their undergraduate program.
Placements
The placement season at Sri Ramachandra Engineering & Technology (SRET) Chennai starts in July and runs until the end of the academic year. The final placements are conducted through various modes such as on-campus, off-campus, and pool-campus, depending on the students’ performance during their internship period.
To be eligible for the SRET Chennai placements drive, students must meet the criteria set by the institute. Meeting a minimum aggregate of 60 percent in Class 10, Class 12, and UG/PG is mandatory for students to participate in the placement process.
