Established in 2008, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Pondicherry is a private university that holds the prestigious “A++” grade accreditation from NAAC. It is recognized as a deemed university and comprises various constituent colleges. These include two medical colleges, one dental college, two nursing colleges, a school of pharmacy, a school of biological sciences, a school of physiotherapy, and a school of allied health sciences.
SBVU Pondicherry has earned recognition from both the UGC and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, designating it as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO). The campus itself covers an expansive area of 197 acres. With a total faculty strength of 204, the university currently boasts an enrolment of 2156 students.
The university offers a range of undergraduate programs, including B.Pharma, B.D.S., and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing. At the postgraduate level, SBVU Pondicherry provides opportunities for specializations such as M.D.S, M.Sc, and D.M Cardiology.
Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
SBV offers a wide range of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs in the fields of medicine, nursing, and dentistry. Additionally, the university also provides research-oriented courses such as DM and PhD.
For those interested in pursuing MBBS and BDS, the NEET UG entrance test is mandatory. As for MD and MS aspirants, they must appear for the NEET PG entrance test, as per the regulations set by the Supreme Court.
For admission into the MDS program, candidates are required to participate in the SBV CET PGMC entrance test. Nursing course applicants must take the SVB BUDGET exam.
Admission to other UG courses will be based on the candidates’ performance in the 10+2 examinations. For PG courses, selection will be determined by the candidates’ scores in their previous courses.

Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Pondicherry places great emphasis on the career development of its students through its dedicated placement cell. This cell actively facilitates both on-campus and off-campus recruitment drives. The primary objective of the placement cell at SBVU Pondicherry is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of their career options and assist them in formulating their long-term goals.
The placement unit at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Pondicherry carries out a range of responsibilities, including organizing pre-placement training sessions, workshops, guest lectures, mock interviews, and seminars. These initiatives are designed to enhance students’ self-confidence and prepare them for successful placements.
According to the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Pondicherry NIRF placement report for the academic year 2020-21, out of 352 eligible students, 217 undergraduate students were successfully placed in various organizations. The report also indicates that the median salary offered to these students was Rs. 7,10,000. Additionally, 35 students chose to pursue higher studies instead of immediate placements.
