
Situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, commonly known as Sir MVIT, holds a distinguished position as a prestigious educational institution in the state. Founded in 1986 by the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust, the institute offers an array of academic programs, including nine Bachelor’s programs covering fields such as Construction, Mechanics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Communications, Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering and Industrial Management, Telecommunications, Computer Science and Biotechnology, alongside four Master’s programs in Computer Applications, Business Administration, Integrated Computer Manufacturing, and Electronics.
Sprawling across a 133-acre campus on Bellary Road, the institute enjoys a strategic location in close proximity to Yelahanka Air Base and Bengaluru International Airport, only 21 km away from Bangalore Municipal Railway Station. At Sir MVIT, a vibrant community of 2,800 students is guided by a team of more than 260 experienced professors. Admissions
Sir MVIT offers admissions to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The available programs for admission include B.E, B.E Lateral Entry, M.Tech, M.B.A, and M.C.A. Candidates seeking admission to the B.E program can choose to apply through either COMEDK UGET or KCET. Upon the release of the cutoff and rank, successful candidates will be required to participate in COMEDK UGET/KCET counseling.
For admission to the PG programs, the Sir MVIT admission process follows the Karnataka PGCET guidelines. After the declaration of the PGCET results, candidates must meet the specified cutoff to be considered for admission. Alternatively, for the M.Tech program, applicants can also apply through GATE, and shortlisted candidates will need to participate in Karnataka PGCET counseling.
The final step of the Sir MVIT admission procedure involves the submission of necessary documents and the payment of fees.
Placements
At Sir MVIT, there is a dedicated training and placement cell aimed at assisting final year students in their placements and equipping them with essential skills. The cell offers comprehensive training in personality development, soft skills, and other relevant areas. To achieve this, various activities such as seminars, workshops, guest lectures, industrial visits, group discussions, and personal interviews are organized as part of Sir MVIT’s placement training program.
The college actively invites renowned recruiters like TCS, Cisco, Akamai, Amazon, Wipro, Capgemini, NTT Data, Infosys, and more to the campus for student placements. These efforts have yielded positive results, with 422 out of 886 eligible candidates from both UG and PG programs securing placements in the year 2020, according to the Sir MVIT placement statistics.
