Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Education, Ujire, was established in 2007. It is affiliated with Mangalore University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education in New Delhi. SDM College of Education is part of the esteemed Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society (Regd.), Ujire. It operates under the guidance of Rev. Dr. D. Veerendra Hegde, recipient of the Green Oscar award in 2012. The college’s primary focus is to nurture competent and value-oriented teachers for future generations. Equipped with excellent facilities and experienced faculty, the college regularly conducts seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and field visits to achieve its objectives.

Admissions
The duration of the B.Ed. program is two academic years, allowing for a maximum completion time of three years from the date of admission.
a) Eligibility for admission to the program requires candidates to have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in either their Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology, specializing in Science and Mathematics, with 55% marks or an equivalent qualification, are also eligible.
b) Reservation and relaxation policies for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories will adhere to the relevant regulations set by either the Central Government or the State Government, depending on applicability.

The training and placement cell at SDM College of Education (SDMCE) is responsible for managing the training and placement activities for the students. Its primary objective is to ensure that students are placed in suitable industries. To prepare candidates for placements, SDM College of Education (SDMCE) offers various programs and activities such as seminars, guest lectures, conferences, corporate meets, personality development and communication skill programs, as well as counseling sessions.
