Saveetha School of Law, the oldest private law college in Chennai, has evolved into a beacon of educational innovation in the legal field. Offering 5-year integrated courses in BA.LLB(HONS) and BBA.LLB(HONS), as well as LLM courses specializing in IPR, Commercial Law, and International Law, our institution provides a comprehensive academic portfolio. Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
BA.LLB(HONS) Eligibility : To enroll in a BA LLB program, candidates must have completed their 12th grade from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score ranging from 50% to 60%. Additionally, some colleges may have specific upper age limits, which vary from institution to institution. The duration of the BA LLB program is 5 years.
BBA.LLB(HONS) Eligibility : Minimum Qualification Required: 10+2 Minimum Marks Required: 50% to 60%, varying between colleges Age Limit: The maximum age limit for admission to the BBA+LLB program is 20 for the general category and 22 for reserved categories.
LLM Eligibility : LLM is a postgraduate degree in law, and candidates are required to possess an undergraduate degree in law to pursue the course. Completion of an MBA does not qualify an applicant for LLM unless they have also completed a law degree, either through a 5-year integrated LLB program or a 3-year LLB program.
Ph.D. in Law Eligibility : Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Law with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade. Alternatively, applicants with an M.Phil. degree in law are also eligible to apply.
Placements
The academia’s Placement Cell takes charge of various aspects of the recruitment process, serving as a liaison between the institute and the industry. The department proactively reaches out to companies to facilitate the placement procedures. It organizes pre-placement talks, examinations, and conducts final interviews to connect students with potential employers.
The Center for Career Counseling, or the placement cell, prioritizes equipping students with essential skills to ensure their readiness for the industry. The cell coordinates guest lectures, seminars, industry-institute interactions, workshops, and corporate training sessions at regular intervals. These activities not only strengthen the institute’s relationship with corporations but also provide students with valuable job opportunities.
Furthermore, the placement department offers an internship program that familiarizes students with various legal services, such as civil practices, social advocacy, corporate law, and modern and traditional dispute resolution mechanisms. The department maintains regular communication with industry professionals to update the curriculum according to industry needs. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the department, the institution has achieved a commendable placement record, with students securing job offers from prestigious organizations such as HDFC, Anand, Cobra Legal Solutions, Abdul and Vinod Partners, SNS Group of Institutions, and many others. The highest package offered to a student reached INR 5 LPA.
