Admissions
Saveetha Engineering College provides admissions to a variety of programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. For undergraduate admissions, Saveetha Engineering College offers B.E/B.Tech programs. The selection process for UG admissions is based on the candidates’ performance in the higher secondary examination. Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria must participate in the single window counseling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE). Subsequently, they are required to participate in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling.
For postgraduate admissions, Saveetha Engineering College offers M.E/M.Tech, M.B.A, and M.S programs in regular mode. The admission process for M.E/M.Tech programs is based on the marks obtained in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Candidates with a valid GATE score are exempt from taking the TANCET exam. Shortlisted candidates must then attend the Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) counseling for final admission.
Placements

The training and placement cell at SEC Chennai offers comprehensive training programs to enhance students’ technical knowledge, soft skills, aptitude, quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning, and verbal ability. Emphasis is also placed on the overall personality development of students. The placement cell conducts mock interviews and provides language learning programs in languages like German, French, and others. Additionally, internal experts from the SYNAPSE team offer technical training.
According to the Saveetha Engineering College NIRF placement report for the academic year 2020-21, a total of 747 undergraduate students out of 1160 were placed in various organizations. These placements had a median salary of Rs. 3,65,000. Furthermore, 28 students from the college opted to pursue higher studies.
