Founded in 1988, the Ragas Dental College and Hospital in Chennai is a renowned institution dedicated to the pursuit of advanced studies in Dentistry. The college holds the approval of the Dental Council of India (DCI) and is affiliated with the esteemed Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. Offering a wide range of programs including BDS, MDS, Diploma, and Ph.D., RDC Chennai provides a conducive learning environment enriched with modern teaching facilities. Over the years, the college has witnessed the successful graduation of approximately 4,000 students, further solidifying its reputation in the field.
Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
To be eligible for admissions to undergraduate and Diploma courses, candidates are required to have successfully completed their 10+2 examinations with the relevant subjects.
For the MDS course, candidates must hold a completed BDS degree.
For admission to the Ph.D. course, candidates need to possess a postgraduate degree.
Candidates can secure admission in any of the courses based on their performance and merit in the qualifying examination.
Placements
Upon completing my post-graduation, I have the option to become a lecturer in the same college or establish my own dental clinic to practice dentistry. However, it’s important to note that my college does not offer any internship programs for postgraduates, and there is no stipend provided as it is a government-aided institution.
Generally, medical and dental colleges do not provide direct placements. However, the esteemed degree certificate holds significant value and can open doors to job opportunities in corporate sectors such as Apollo and Global Hospitals. It’s worth mentioning that the college does offer a 6-month internship program.
