Established in 2009, PSV College of Engineering and Technology is a renowned institution located on the Puducherry-Chidambaram ECR Highway. It operates under the Sri Ganesh Educational Trust and is affiliated with Pondicherry University. The college holds the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
PSV College of Engineering and Technology offers a variety of degree programs in different branches of engineering. The institution takes pride in providing separate hostels for both male and female students, ensuring a comfortable living environment.
The college also features its own placement cell, which actively assists final-year students by providing valuable information about recruitment opportunities. This cell plays a crucial role in connecting students with potential employers, facilitating their transition into the professional world.
Course, Fees and Eligibility
Admissions
PSV College of Engineering and Technology offers programs in five departments, namely CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, and Science and Humanities. The institute provides Bachelor’s Degrees in Technology with specializations in CSE, ECE, EEE, and Mechanical.
The admission process for these courses follows the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) counseling for candidates from Puducherry. For candidates from other states, admission is based on the JEE Main examination. Eligible candidates must have passed the 10+2 exams with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology/Computer Science/Biotechnology. Those who have completed HSC with Mathematics and Vocational theory are also eligible to apply.
For lateral-entry admission, candidates should have successfully completed a relevant Diploma program. Candidates applying through CENTAC need to submit their applications online through the official website, although offline applications are also available. The application fee for CENTAC is INR 600 for the general category and INR 300 for the Schedule Caste category.
Placements
The placement opportunities at my college are promising. The Placement and Training Cell is dedicated to offering Career Development Programs to students who aspire to enter the corporate world. A significant percentage of students from my college have secured placements in top companies across India.
However, it is worth noting that some students have been placed locally with relatively low salary packages, which has resulted in a lack of interest among them. It has been observed that certain placement agencies charge fees to bring companies to the campus, causing concerns among students.
