Presidency College embarked on its journey on October 15, 1840, initially as a preparatory school located in a leased building called Edinburgh Home in Egmore. This autonomous college has been ranked 7th by NIRF 2021 in the overall college category. In the 2020 NIRF rankings, the college secured the 5th position. Presidency College is affiliated with Madras University and holds accreditation from NAAC with a Grade B++ and a score of 2.58. Spanning across 35 acres in Chennai, this co-ed college offers a comprehensive range of 94 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. Most programs at Presidency College are offered in both English and Tamil languages. The college has a student enrollment of over 4800.

Admissions
