PEC Thiruvallur, known for its excellent reputation, is a renowned engineering college that secured the 5th rank in the 2017-18 University Results among 497 Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu. With a mission to establish itself as a premier institution in the country, PEC strives to develop centers of excellence in the fields of Engineering, Technology, and Management. The engineering department at PEC offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Admission to these programs is based on national-level entrance examinations, including TNEA, TANCET, and GATE, respectively. Currently, the institute boasts a diverse student body of over 2500 individuals, comprising both male and female students. Admissions
The selection process for the B.E program at this institution is based on the merit of the qualifying examination and the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) counseling. In the case of Lateral Entry admissions, candidates are chosen based on their merit in the qualifying examination. When it comes to post-graduation admissions, they are conducted through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) or Consortium Examination.
To be eligible for the B.E program, applicants must have completed their 10+2 education in the Science stream. For post-graduate programs, a relevant degree from a recognized university is required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria.

PEC Thiruvallur provides a diverse range of career opportunities for aspiring college students. The Training and Placement Department takes charge of all aspects concerning student placement and internship programs. Starting from the third semester, the department offers classes in communication skills, quantitative aptitude, computer programming, and languages to enhance students’ employability.
