Established in 2007, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology is a prestigious higher education institution situated in Pondicherry. The institute offers a comprehensive range of 7 undergraduate courses, all of which are full-time degree programs. Admissions
The B.Tech program at Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology is available in three different disciplines. Additionally, the institute facilitates lateral entry admissions for the B.Tech program.
To secure admission to the B.Tech program, prospective candidates must participate in the Joint Entrance Test (JET) administered by the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC). The application process for the JET, including form filling and counseling, is conducted online. Interested candidates are required to submit the JET application form to CENTAC either through post or in person.
For eligibility in the B.Tech program, candidates must have successfully completed their 10+2 education with a minimum of 45% marks in the science stream. The merit list for admission is determined based on the JET score.
In addition to regular admissions, 10% of the seats in each branch are allocated for lateral entry candidates.
Placements
The Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) at the institute is actively engaged in assisting students with their campus placements. The functions of the T&P Cell encompass a wide range of activities, which include:
- Collecting feedback from recruiters and forwarding it to the relevant Board of Studies, ensuring that the syllabi align with the latest corporate requirements.
- Organizing frequent in-plant training programs at industries, aiming to bridge the gap between the industry and academia.
