NMKRV College for Women, located in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, is under the administration of the Rashtreeya Sikshan Samiti Trust. It was established in 1971 as a pre-college institution, initially accommodating 150 students. Later, in 1973, it was renamed as NMKRV Degree College for Women. Over the years, the college has grown significantly, earning a remarkable reputation as one of the leading women’s colleges in the state.
The college achieved autonomous status in 2006, signifying its commitment to academic excellence and independence. Notably, in 2010, it was honored with the prestigious “College with Potential for Excellence” title by the UGC (University Grants Commission). The college’s quality and performance were acknowledged by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with an “A” grade and an impressive CGPA of 3.22. Presently, the college is preparing for its fourth round of accreditation.
Furthermore, in recognition of its dedication to education and research, the college was chosen in 2016 to be part of the DST (Department of Science and Technology) FIST program under the “O” category. As a result, the university received 1.35 kr for enhancing educational and research facilities across scientific disciplines.

Admissions
The college offers a range of undergraduate programs including BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, Integrated B.A-B.Ed, and Integrated B.Sc-B.Ed. For those interested in pursuing postgraduate studies, M.Sc and M.Com programs are available for exceptional candidates.
To be eligible for admission to the undergraduate programs, candidates must have a valid score at the 10+2 level. Similarly, postgraduate admissions are based on the candidate’s performance at the undergraduate level in the relevant specializations. The allocation of seats in each program is determined by merit in the last qualifying examination.

The institute boasts its dedicated placement cell, offering comprehensive Personality Development and Skill Development programs to its students. This center is efficiently managed by a coordinator, who maintains regular communication with numerous employers and extends invitations for Campus Interviews. Notably, the institute has achieved remarkable success by conducting campus-based interviews.
Over the past five years, the placement center has facilitated the placement of more than 350 students in prestigious organizations like WIPRO, HP, Fidelity, Greet Technologies, IBM, TCS, JP Morgan, Northern Trust, ICICI, Reliance, TCS, and several other esteemed institutions.
