Nehru Arts and Science College, a prominent institution under the Nehru Group of Institutions, upholds the motto “Knowledge is Wisdom.” Founded by Late P. K. Das, the trust has expanded its educational ventures beyond Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, into the neighbouring state of Kerala. Continuing his legacy, Adv. Dr P. Krishna Das, Chairman and Managing Trustee, and Dr P. Krishnakumar, CEO and Secretary, lead the college.
Strategically located in Thirumalayampalayam, just 2.5 kilometres from NH 47 (linking Coimbatore and Palakkad), 15 kilometres from Coimbatore City, and 14 kilometres from the Kerala border, the college enjoys a serene and pollution-free environment. The lush green surroundings and refreshing breeze create a conducive atmosphere for productive learning. It is conveniently accessible through a fleet of 60 institution buses that operate between Coimbatore, Tirupur, Pollachi, and Kerala.
Established in 1998, the college offers four programs and is affiliated with Bharathiar University. It holds UGC 2 (f) and 12 (B) recognition, along with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) awarded the college a “B” grade (CGPA 2.75) in 2009, which was elevated to an “A” grade (CGPA 3.10) during the reaccreditation in 2014. The college’s progress and achievements can be attributed to the dedicated efforts of the management and principal. In July 2017, the college attained autonomy, marking another milestone in its journey.

Admissions
NASC offers a wide range of programs in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce, including 22 UG, 8 PG, 10 M. Phil., and 09 Ph. D. programs. Admission to all these courses is based on merit scores achieved in the qualifying examination. For UG programs, candidates should have successfully completed their 10+2 education, while for PG programs, a bachelor’s degree is required.
NASC is affiliated with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and holds recognition from UGC. This esteemed private institution has been re-accredited with an “A” grade by NAAC, showcasing its commitment to excellence. In terms of rankings, NASC has achieved notable positions in various categories. According to India Today, the college is ranked 19th for Fashion Design, 78th for Science, and 72nd for BBA programs.
