The National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, situated in Bangalore, Karnataka, is an ISO certified research institute that came into existence in 1993 under the name of National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Insects. Its primary mission revolves around the vital task of collecting, characterizing, conserving, exchanging, and utilizing insects that hold significance in agriculture. Serving as a central agency, the Bureau spearheads the efforts in collecting, characterizing, documenting, conserving, exchanging, researching, and leveraging agriculturally important insect resources, including mites, spiders, and related arthropods, as well as insect-derived resources, to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Admissions
The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the All India Entrance Examinations for Admission (AIEEA), which facilitates the enrollment of students into ICAR’s Research institutes and universities for their PhD programs. Additionally, the agency also invites online applications for various short-term courses.
Placements
Our college boasts excellent placement opportunities for students, attracting numerous agricultural companies and firms from various agro-based industries, as well as seed companies and food processing companies, for on-campus recruitment. The salary packages offered range from a minimum of 2.5 lakh rupees annually to a maximum of 8 lakh rupees annually.
