Established in 2007, the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kancheepuram is an esteemed public autonomous institute of national importance located in Kancheepuram, Chennai. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and established under the Ministry of Human Resource Development – Government of India, IIITDM Kancheepuram aims to promote engineering education focused on design and manufacturing in India.
Spanning across 51 acres, the institute offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in the fields of Technology, Design, and Manufacturing. The programs available include B.Tech, B.Tech + M.Tech, M.Des, M.Tech, and Ph.D. Admission to these programs is based on the performance of students in entrance examinations such as JEE Main for B.Tech. and GATE for M.Tech. With a wide range of options, IIITDM Kancheepuram offers a total of nine undergraduate courses and four postgraduate programs to cater to the varied interests and aspirations of students.
Admissions
IIITDM Kancheepuram offers admissions to various courses such as B.Tech, B.Tech+M.Tech, M.E/M.Tech, M.Des, and Ph.D. The admission process for UG and dual degree courses (B.Tech and B.Tech+M.Tech) at IIITDM Kancheepuram considers the scores obtained in JEE Main/SAT entrance exams, along with the JOSAA counselling process. For M.E/M.Tech and M.Des programs, admission is based on GATE/CEED exam scores, along with the CCMT counselling process. As for the Ph.D. program, admission is determined through an institute-level entrance examination followed by interviews.
