Vidya Mitra

The Hindustan College of Arts & Science was established in 1995 by the late Dr K.C.G. Verghese, an esteemed educationist, philanthropist, and visionary. It is a constituent unit of the Hindustan Group of Institutions and is affiliated with the University of Madras. The college has been granted the Minority Status by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India.

The college offers a diverse range of academic programs, including 17 undergraduate courses, 7 postgraduate courses, as well as 3 M.Phil. and 2 PhD research programs. Initially established as a center of excellence in Applied Sciences and Arts, the college has received accreditation with a ‘B++’ grade from NAAC and holds a 2(f) status.

The college boasts well-equipped laboratories for various disciplines, including Electronics and Communication Science, Computer Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Entomology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Multimedia, Audio and Television Production, Drawing and Graphic Design, Edit Suite, and Photography.
