The Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI) is an independent establishment established by the Government of Karnataka, affiliated with the Department of Ecology, Forest & Environment. EMPRI Bangalore offers a comprehensive two-year full-time MBA program, with admissions based on previous academic merit.
The institute’s Governing Body comprises government representatives from various departments, including the Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Department of Urban Development, Department of Industries & Commerce, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Finance, and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Since 2007, EMPRI has received support from the Government of Germany through the Integrated Expert Program of CIM. Additionally, in 2008, the former Indo-Norwegian Environmental Project (INEP) was assimilated into EMPRI, resulting in an expanded scope of its mission and activities.
