Established in 2020, the DOT School of Design in Chennai aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia. It is a collaborative effort with Alagappa University and holds accreditation from NAAC with an “A” grade. The school is also approved by the government of Tamil Nadu. It proudly holds memberships with renowned organizations such as AIGA – American Institute of Graphic Arts, New York and IADEA – Indian Art And Design Educators Association, Chennai.
The DOT School of Design offers a diverse range of courses for students to choose from. These include B.Des in Fashion Design, B.Des in Industrial Design, BFA in Visual Art, M.Des in Interior and Furniture Design, as well as UG and PG diploma programs. To be eligible for the UG courses at the DOT School of Design, candidates must have successfully completed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board in any stream. For the PG courses, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. UG diploma courses require completion of the 10th grade, while PG diploma programs require a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Admissions
Admissions to all courses at the DOT School of Design are based on the candidates’ performance in the DOT-DAT (Design Aptitude Test). The test consists of three rounds that evaluate the student’s aptitude and design abilities: Creative Quotient (CQ) Test, On Table Test, Personal Interview, and Portfolio Submission.
To begin the DOT School of Design admission process, candidates are required to fill out the DOT-DAT application form and submit it. Subsequently, they need to appear for the aptitude test and achieve valid scores. Once candidates have qualified the test, they will be invited for a personal interview where they will also have to present their portfolio. Admission to the DOT School of Design will be granted to candidates who successfully pass the interview.
