Admissions
Candidates applying for M.E. programs without a valid GATE score must participate in the TANCET examination before registering for TANCA counseling. Those seeking admission under the Management Quota can contact the institute or collect the application form from the institute’s fee counter by paying the specified application fee in cash. In the case of admission to B.E. courses through Lateral Entry, preference is given to candidates holding engineering diplomas or B.Sc. Mathematics graduates with an aggregate mark of 50%.
The minimum eligibility criteria for marks vary for different categories: 45% for Backward Classes, 40% for MBC & DNC, and SC/ST/SCA candidates. The intake capacity for B.E. Lateral Entry courses, available across all B.E. disciplines in DGCT, is 24 seats per branch. Admission to B.E. programs will be conducted through TNEA Counseling. Candidates applying through the Management Quota are not required to register for TNEA/TANCA counseling. Instead, these candidates are admitted based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, on a merit basis.
Candidates with a valid GATE score receive first preference for M.E. admissions. Any remaining vacant seats after admitting GATE candidates are filled through the TANCET examination.
