Established in 1969 as an autonomous college, Christ University is a secular institution managed by the Catholic Church that welcomes students from all backgrounds. It is among the top-ranked private universities in India, offering internationally recognised programmes across a range of fields such as humanities, sciences, social sciences, law and engineering, in addition to shorter professional courses in business and management.
Christ University prides itself on its international outlook, with over 700 students from 58 nationalities. The university holds partnerships with institutions worldwide, including the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the USA and Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.
Teaching predominantly takes place at the Bangalore Central campus, which has won numerous awards for its architecture and gardens, including the Mysore Horticulture Society’s “best institutional garden” award for 24 consecutive years. Admissions
Admissions to Christ University are based on an entrance exam conducted by the university, followed by a Micro presentation and personal interview. Additionally, the university accepts scores from national-level entrance exams such as MAT, CAT, XAT, GMAT, and CMAT.
Christ University offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil, and PhD programs in both general and Honours streams. At the undergraduate level, the university offers degrees in BA, BSc., B.Com, BBA, BHM, B.Tech, BCA, B.Ed, and BA-LLB with specializations in various disciplines. At the postgraduate level, the university offers degrees in MBA, MSc., M.Tech, MCA, LLM, MA, MSW, M.Com, and PG Diploma in various disciplines. The university also offers M.Phil, PhD, and PDF programs.
