Located in Chennai, India, the Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) is a renowned journalism school that offers postgraduate diploma courses in journalism. Initially established as the Asian School of Journalism in Bangalore by the Indian Express group in 1994, it primarily offered a print course. In 2000, the institution underwent a transition when it was taken over by a not-for-profit trust established by Sashi Kumar, a prominent journalist and media entrepreneur. Subsequently, the school was renamed and relocated to Chennai, specifically to the former Hindu office on Wallajah Road. However, it has since moved to a spacious 80,000 sq. ft. facility in Taramani, comprising both the college and residential blocks, each four storeys high. The institution now operates under the Media Development Foundation, with Sashi Kumar serving as the chairman. Initially, during its early years in Chennai, the institution was led by K. Thomas Oommen.

Admissions

Applications are currently being accepted for the academic year 2023-24 for two programs at the Asian College of Journalism: Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Financial Journalism, and Integrated Multimedia Journalism.
