Established in 1949 by Shri. C. Rajam, Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) became a part of Anna University in 1978. Admissions

The available courses for admission at Madras Institute of Technology include B.E/B.Tech, B.E Part Time, M.E/M.Tech, M.E/M.Tech Part Time, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Prospective applicants must first ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.
For admission to the B.E/B.Tech program, candidates need to register on the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) website. TNEA prepares a merit list and ranks based on the scores obtained in 10+2 examinations in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Qualified candidates then need to register for TNEA counseling, where seats will be allotted based on their preferences.

The admission procedure for M.E/M.Tech programs requires candidates to appear for either TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) or GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).
