St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) is located in Vamanjoor and was founded in 2002. It is affiliated with VTU, Belgaum, and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. SJEC provides a range of courses including B.E, M.Sc., M.Tech, MCA, MBA, and Ph.D. The B.E program offers five specializations, the MBA program has three disciplines, and the M.Tech program has three domains. SJEC also provides research courses such as Ph.D. and M.Sc. for B.Tech, MBA, M.Tech, and Math students who have valid scores in GATE, COMEDK, and PGCET/KMAT exams. The application process is online, and after filling out the form, students must submit it to the campus admission office.

St. Joseph Engineering College in Mangalore has a placement cell which plays a crucial role in the campus recruitment process. Its main aim is to help students find the right career path by acting as a mediator between the college and the industry. To achieve this, the placement cell at SJEC Mangalore conducts faculty development programs, quantitative aptitude training, programming skill training, mock group discussions, and mock interviews by HR professionals and alumni. Additionally, the cell invites various recruiters to the campus for student placements.

The placement cell offers training initiatives such as i-Point Soft Skill Training, Aptitude Training, Technical Training, CoCubes Assessment, CLHRD, and IGNITIA. A number of prominent recruiters like Cadence, BOSCH, Indo US MIM, PRDC, Amazon, Microsoft, and more have participated in the SJEC Mangalore placement drive. In 2020, the college’s placement statistics (NIRF Data) showed that out of the 500 eligible candidates, 254 students were placed in the four-year UG program.
